I. Use of Products
Independent Currencies produces items with a close likeness to national currency. In many cases, Independent Currencies uses identical production techniques as those used to manufacture central bank-issued paper money.
Should the buyer attempt to use these products in a similar manner as national currency, outlined above, Independent Currencies cannot be held responsible.
By purchasing these items, you agree that they are of collectable/artistic value only; they are not legal tender, they cannot be used to pay for goods and services or for debts private or public. They cannot be used as legal tender currency, and are non-exchangeable.
II. Use of Images
All product images on this site are copyrighted by Independent Currencies. You are free to use and circulate them, under a Creative Commons License, i.e. you must must attribute the Title (name of the product), Author (Independent Currencies), Source (www.independentcurrencies.com) and License (Creative Commons).
You may not digitally remove the watermark or ‘SPECIMEN’ mark.
You may not attempt to counterfeit our products.
If you wish to document our products, either by scanning them or photographing them, you are free to do so, on condition that:
ALL sides of the product are marked twice with ‘SPECIMEN’:
- in black
- written diagonally
- across more than 50% of the height of the product
- and spaced equally from the edges of the longest side.
III. Presentation Of Products
All images on www.independentcurrencies.com are indicative. Images on the site may differ in dimensions, colour and composition in real life.
We also frequently show speculative designs – there are no guarantees that the final, finished product will resemble the speculative design.
Independent Currencies reserves the right to change or alter product design at any time.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

VII. Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
VIII. How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
IX. What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
